Our RCIA candidates and catechumens have been meeting weekly since September to learn the Catholic faith. SEEK is a 3 day conference that will have over 1200 college students seeking an encounter with Jesus while immersed in Catholic community, participating in Sacraments, receiving talks from dynamic Catholic speakers, and prayer. National Vocation Awareness Week will be celebrated in our country November 7-13, 2021. Please ask Our Lord for more dedicated, holy priests, deacons and consecrated men and women. May they be inspired by Jesus Christ, supported by our faith community, and respond generously to God’s gift of a vocation.

We are happy to announce that The Deacon’s Table, which was founded by Dcn. Tom McConnell and his wife Brenda, will start back Sunday, October 24th. Brenda McConnell will be leading the group, and she is looking forward to continuing this ministry that they started together. Classes will meet Sundays at 10:15am in Varallo Parish Hall, as they did before.

26th Annual Pilgrimage for Restoration - A Traditional Walking Pilgrimage - Friday to Sunday, September 24-26, 2021. The “Auriesville” Pilgrimage - Relocated to Eastern Pennsylvania to Our Lady of Guadalupe’s Shrine, Allentown, due to the continued lockdowns in New York State. Come to restore. The rest will come. Our Jubilate Deo Youth Schola resumes this fall for students in grades 2-12 with unchanged voices. Learn to read and sing the sacred music of the Church! Classes will be on Fridays from 4:30-5:30pm, beginning Sept. 10 for new students and Oct. 1 for returning students.

Our Basilica parish supports the Ladies of Charity, who give direct financial assistance to the poor. Besides collecting monetary donations and gently used items, their Greater Goods Gift Store needs volunteers to sort and tag their many donations, assist customers in the store, or cashier. In-person VBS for preK through 6th graders will be held August 2, 3, and 4 from 8:45 to 11:45am. Registration is due to Florence Porter by July 25. Register online (click for registration form) or fill out the printed form in the vestibule. Both adult and teen volunteers are needed. Religious Education classes for all grades will resume Sundays from 10:15-11:15am beginning September 12. We need a lead teacher and an assistant for each classroom. A great way to learn about our faith is to teach it! You just need a deep desire to share the Catholic Faith, and we will support you with the tools to share it.
