The Basilica added a 7am Mass on Tuesdays and Thursdays temporarily during Lent. We have tried to continue this since Mass then. But because of additional daily responsibilities of our priests, we are restoring our previous schedule of offering the 7am Mass on Wednesdays and Fridays only. We will continue to offer the 12pm Mass Monday through Friday.

In addition to donating to Catholic Charities of East Tennessee relief efforts for Hurricane Helene, Basilica parishioners Dcn. Joe Roy and Hank DeHart and our Motherhood group are collaborating with efforts in Unicoi County and St. Michael the Archangel parish in Erwin, TN, to get supplies to people in need. We are collecting specific supplies at the Basilica through Monday, October 7 at 12pm. Please drop your donations in the marked bins under the steps that go down to Varallo Parish Hall. Lorelei’s Library, located in the Basilica's hallway, is available for parishioners to check out one book at a time for up to three weeks. We have completed our annual inventory and discovered that over 90 books are missing without being checked out, and many books are overdue. Since these books will be expensive to replace, Please review the list of missing books (click here) and check around your house and car, and return them to the basket at Lorelei's Library. In July we received a 2024 update from our parishioner, Brother Kevin Doerge, who joined the Canons Regular of St. John Cantius in 2021. After a year of parish ministry at St. John Cantius, he renewed his vows on August 14, and he will enter Mundelein Seminary this fall. Click to read his full update.
