Basilica of Saints Peter & Paul parishioner Nancy Marie Beals Fisher passed away on Memorial Day, May 26, 2025, after enduring pancreatic cancer for several months. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Nancy was married to her husband Dan for nearly 50 years, raising two sons and two daughters, and caring for 19 foster babies through Bethany Christian Services and one long-term foster daughter. Nancy was a leader in many ministries, most recently the Forever Young Catholics, and she was a past co-founding member of the Basilica's Gloria Dei Schola. She was a crafter, artist, enthusiastic Tennessee naturalist and birdwatcher. Nancy loved hiking in God’s creation especially the Great Smoky Mountains. She is survived by her devoted husband, sons and daughters, including 16 grandchildren.

Prayer request during Nancy's Illness
November 2024: Basilica parishioner Nancy Fisher had emergency surgery to remove her gall bladder, and she learned that she has pancreatic cancer. Some lesions were noted on the liver and are being watched. Nancy is married to Dan Fisher and they are active leaders in our Forever Young Catholics ministry. They have four grown children and many grandchildren. The Fishers ask for prayers for Nancy and the family during this time of trial.
