We are asking all parishioners to support four important stewardship initiatives:
- The Offertory to sustain the regular needs of our parish,
- Donation to our Restoration & Repair fund, to preserve our facilities.
- The Bishop’s Appeal for Ministries to provide for the needs of the ministries of our diocese, and

Dear Basilica Parishioner,
The Basilica is growing, and God is doing something beautiful here. Week after week, our Basilica is filled with people coming to worship Jesus Christ, receive the sacraments, encounter the Catholic faith, and find a spiritual home in the heart of downtown Chattanooga. In recent years, we have welcomed an extraordinary number of new parishioners, including unprecedented numbers of people entering the Catholic Church. That growth is a blessing and an invitation. I am asking everyone who calls the Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul home to join in the work of building up this parish through our Annual Stewardship Appeal.First, thank you to those who have faithfully supported the Basilica through your offertory giving and generosity. Because of you, we are able to celebrate the liturgy, care for our beautiful Basilica, form people in the Catholic faith, and minister to the growing number of people who come through our doors. Your generosity has also allowed us to remain a debt-free parish, a tremendous blessing for which I am deeply grateful.
But this appeal is especially an invitation to those who are new to the Basilica or who have never made a stewardship commitment before. If you have recently registered, begun attending Mass here, entered the Catholic Church, or simply come to think of the Basilica as your spiritual home, we want you to know: you belong here.
And now we invite you to take another step in that belonging. Your offertory gift, whatever you are able to give, helps make possible every Mass celebrated, every sacrament received, every person welcomed, and every opportunity we have to proclaim Jesus Christ and His Catholic faith.
What happens here depends on all of us. As our parish grows, there are more people to welcome, more souls to serve, and more opportunities to advance the mission God has entrusted to us. Together, we can ensure that this beautiful Basilica remains a vibrant home for the Catholic faith in the heart of Chattanooga.
Our in-pew pledge weekends will be October 25 and November 1. I am asking everyone who considers the Basilica their home parish to prayerfully make a stewardship commitment for the coming year.

10 Ways to Support the Basilica
We would love for you to consider ways your generosity can continue to drive our Mission both now and in the future. Gifts now allow you to witness the impact of your generosity and realize tax benefits. Gifts later allow you to retain control over assets during your lifetime while ensuring that your charitable intentions are fulfilled. You may also enjoy estate tax savings for yourself and/or your beneficiaries in the future.- Gifts don’t have to be large to be effective. Simply make weekly gifts by envelope, check, or cash in the offertory. Better yet simply make regular gifts that are automatically deducted from your bank account or charged to a credit card through online giving.
- Donate appreciated stocks to the Basilica, saving taxes on the appreciated amount.
- If you have required minimum distributions (RMDs), you may give all or a percentage of that RMD directly to the Basilica. The gift results in tax savings for you. Contact your retirement benefits administrator for more information.
- Need a gift for your loved one who has everything? Consider a gift to the Basilica in his or her honor!
- Include a bequest to the Basilica in your will. You can use MyCatholicWill to create a will easily and for free.
- Name the Basilica as beneficiary of all or a percentage of your IRA or other retirement asset. Upon distribution, the gift is tax deductible.
- Name the Basilica as a beneficiary of all or a portion of a life insurance policy.

Under One Roof Capital Campaign (2021-2024)

The Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul is a unique treasure to Catholics in Chattanooga and the community at large. The Under One Roof Capital Campaign will provide funds to replace the leaking roof and gutters on the Basilica and update the heating and air conditioning systems. Any additional funds raised will help Sts. Peter and Paul renovate aging buildings to provide meeting space for thriving ministries in the parish. Your support will help preserve this beautiful Basilica for generations to come. Following the planning study and input from our parishioners, we have begun the first phase of our Under One Roof campaign and have the following resources to share with you:
