A developer is proposing to build a 12-story building directly across tthe backside of the entire Basilica campus that would overshadow our campus and block the light coming in through our Tiffany stained glass windows. The deep foundation of the tall building would threaten the Basilica's structural integrity. The next public hearing will be Jan. 12, 2026 at 1pm. Basilica parishioners are encouraged to represent the importance of the Basilica in Chattanooga by contacting the RPA and the City Council and attending future hearings. Click for details.
