Our Perpetual Food Drive will benefit the Ladies of Charity through March 8th. Please bring TO-GO FOOD ITEMS that people without a kitchen could eat picnic-style. In the second half of Lent, we challenge you to skip a meal and donate food to the Chattanooga Food Bank with the money you save. The Solemnity of St. Joseph will be celebrated Thursday, March 19. We will have a sung Mass at 12pm, followed by a traditional blessing of the St. Joseph Table in the vestibule. There will be rolls on the table to take, with the understanding that you should also drop off a food item for the poor in the cabinet.
We will have Adoration with Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament on each Friday of Lent following the 12pm Mass until 5:30pm, including children's Adoration from 4:30-5:30pm (adults are still welcome), and again through the night from 8pm to 7am, hosted by our Hispanic community.
On Fridays during Lent, Stations of the Cross will be prayed in the church at 5:30pm, following Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. Stations will also be offered in Spanish at 7:30pm.
The Knights of Columbus will be hosting a traditional Fish Fry each Friday of Lent from 6pm-8pm at the Knights of Columbus Hall (313 Sylvan St.). Join us following the Basilica's 5:30pm English Stations of the Cross or before the 7:30pm Spanish Stations of the Cross! Fresh fish filets, green beans, fries or mac & cheese. Salad, quesadillas, and adult beverages will also be available. Proceeds benefit the charitable efforts of the KofC Council 610.
On Wednesday, May 25, we will celebrate the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord with a sung Mass at 12pm (in addition to our 7am spoken Mass). The 12pm Mass will include a blessing over expectant mothers and mothers who have lost a baby.
