Christina and Matt Nuar had their fifth child on March 10, and he is started out in NICU with breathing problems. The family asked for prayers for baby Augustin (Gus) Maximus. Gus was finally able to come home after several weeks. Thank you for your prayers. =

The Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul is seeking volunteers to run the livestream of the Basilica 9:00 Mass on Sundays. Simple training will be arranged. Our Basilica young mother, Lauren Serio, is suffering from cancer in her brain, lungs, and spine. She is now halfway through chemotherapy. Each year we order Catholic liturgical calendars from The Catholic Extension as a gift to our parishioners, and they normally arrive before Christmas. The calendars were delayed this year but they arrived on 1/9/25!

Former Basilica parishioner +Sherry Ohotnicky passed away on Dec. 26, 2024, after a recurrence of cancer. Sherry and her husband Pete and their children were very active parishioners at the Basilica for several years until they moved to Michigan in 2019. Sherry started the first Catholic American Heritage Girls troop in Chattanooga here at the Basilica. Read more about Sherry's life and legacy in her obituary here. We pray that Sherry may rest in peace and that her family be comforted.

The Basilica of Sts. Peter & Paul invites you to support the UTC Catholic Center for Giving Tuesday! The UTC Catholic Center has teamed up with #iGiveCatholic to raise money on "Giving Tuesday", December 3rd and two weeks prior. This secular holiday follows "Black Friday" and "Cyber Monday". The Basilica added a 7am Mass on Tuesdays and Thursdays temporarily during Lent. We have tried to continue this since Mass then. But because of additional daily responsibilities of our priests, we are restoring our previous schedule of offering the 7am Mass on Wednesdays and Fridays only. We will continue to offer the 12pm Mass Monday through Friday.

Please pray for Matt Givens, who was hospitalized with gallstones and had to undergo three surgeries. He is now home from the hospital. The Givens family asks for prayers for his pain relief and his recovery. (Click for more information.)

St. Ambrose Catholic Homeschool Co-op is happy to announce our annual Advent Candle fundraiser. Our Downtown Youth Ministry for 6th through 12th grade will kick off the year with a night at Coolidge Park on Wednesday, September 18 from 6-8pm! We will also meet Oct. 16, Nov. 13, and Dec. 11. Leroy Talbert Altman III, former parishioner and lector at Sts. Peter and Paul, passed away on Oct. 20, 2024 at the age of 74. His funeral Mass will be at the Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul Monday, October 28, at 9:30am. May his soul rest in peace. Read his obituary here.
