CHATT Foundation collecting items for the needy: Dec. 15-21

The Basilica is collecting items in December for the needy who the services of the CHATT Foundation, formerly known as the Chattanooga Community Kitchen. What began as a soup kitchen has become the largest homeless service provider in Hamilton County! Besides feeding the homeless, the Foundation provides clothing, showers, laundry services, emergency shelter beds, a family shelter at the Maclellan Shelter, and job skills training, among many other services.  

DECEMBER NEEDS

From Dec. 15 - 21, we will be collecting items needed by the CHATT Foundation to serve people experiencing homelessness in the Chattanooga area. CHATT Foundation has a specific list of needs for December:

Paper towels,
Cleaning Supplies,
Clorox Wipes,
Laundry Detergent,
Tall Kitchen Bags,
Trash Bags,
Jeans & Sweaters
Coats & Jackets,
Travel-Sized Hygiene Products,
Ponchos,
Razors,
Tents & Sleeping Bags
Hand Warmers,
Toboggans & Thick Gloves
Backpacks,
Tarps: green/camo,
Birthday Party Items,
Diapers (size 3-5),
Quart Ziploc Bags,

Cooking Spices,
Coffee,
Salt & Pepper
Vegetable Oil
(no other food items, please)

Please only drop off items that are on the list. Do not drop off expired food. 

Donations may be dropped off in the Basilica vestibule at the designated location. 
Donations will be accepted December 15 through December 21.
