We welcome Fr. Colin Blatchford, our former Parochial Vicar, as the celebrant of our Masses the weekend of April 18-19. Fr. Blatchford is the Associate Director of Courage International. During Mass this weekend, a special collection will be taken up to support this ministry.
Courage International, an apostolate of the Catholic Church, was founded by Fr. John Harvey O.S.F.S. in 1980 to provide pastoral accompaniment to individuals who experience same-sex attraction, but who have chosen to live a chaste life in accordance with the Church’s teaching on sexuality. Today Courage has over 160 chapters in 15 countries.
The EnCourage ministry walks with parents, siblings, and friends who have a loved one in the lifestyle, with whom they are trying to maintain a healthy loving relationship, without compromising their faith. The ultimate goal of both Courage and EnCourage is to assist individuals to grow in holiness by providing supporting fellowship and spiritual guidance.
