Our Christmas Masses include: a Vigil Mass in English at 5:30pm on Dec. 24 (prelude music at 5pm); Midnight Mass in Latin at 12am on Dec. 25 (prelude music at 11:30pm Dec. 24), Christmas Day English Mass at 10am, and Spanish Mass at 12pm. On January 1, the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God, a holy day of obligation, we will have three Masses: 12pm English, 6pm Latin, and 8pm Spanish. Click for details.
ABIDE Respite Ministry, located at around the corner at First-Centenary United Methodist Church. ABIDE seeks to care for and support persons with early to moderate memory issues and their caregivers. Volunteers are able to provide community, socialization, and love through activities and companionship with participants. They also give respite to caregivers, knowing their loved ones are being loved and cared for in a safe environment. Click to find out more.
Each year the Knights of Columbus provides thousands of coats to needy children and families. The Knights of Columbus Council 610 will be collecting new and gently used children's coats for donation to the Chambliss Center. Drop off the coats in the Basilica vestibule between Nov. 22 and Dec. 14. Help keep a needy child warm this winter.
Registration is open for our OCIA programs for Becoming Catholic, as well as Religious Education for preK through 12th grade; Youth Group for 6th through 12th grade; and Youth Schola for 2nd grade and up. VOLUNTEERS are needed in these programs in various roles. Click for more info.

The Basilica is collecting SPECIFIC items in August for the needy who use the services of the CHATT Foundation: Sugar, canned veggies, coffee creamer, kids' snacks, disposable dishes and napkins, paper towels, cleaning supplies, deodorant, laundry detergent, trash bags, ponchos, socks, underwear, blankets, backpacks/bags, tarps, and strollers. Drop off donations in the Basilica vestibule by August 31.
The Basilica is looking for volunteers with leadership ability to put their talents to use for the following important ministries: Community Outreach Coordinator and Hospitality Coordinators (receptions, etc.). Email [email protected] to inquire.
The Diocese of Knoxville has sent Seminarian Eli Holt to the Basilica this summer. He will be serving at Mass and participating in our activities. Please welcome Eli when you see him, and pray for his vocation. Click to read his vocation story.
Knights of Columbus Council 610 is offering a special Father's Day gift of one year of free membership. You can claim this free gift or give it to a loved one. You may also join other Knights and their families at the Basilica Sun., June 15 at 10:30am for a prayer of consecration to the Holy Family.

Parishioner Katie Bird has organized a Facebook group called "Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul (TN) - Buy Nothing Group." Basilica parishioners are encouraged to join and post items or services that they are offering to give away or looking to receive for free. The hope is to provide a convenient channel for practicing charity and solidarity within the Basilica community. Click for details.
Our parish is on a journey to know, love, and serve Christ as a parish community. We are asking EVERY INDIVIDUAL PARISHIONER age 18 and up to take the Basilica's Disciple Maker Index Survey HERE. The survey is anonymous and takes only 15 minutes or so. Your input helps strengthen our parish. Results help leadership prepare for the future. A report of the findings will be shared after the results are compiled.
During early March 2025, severe storms caused Brandon & Linsey Dean's basement retaining wall to give way. The home has been braced up but could still collapse. It will cost $50k to repair. Insurance is refusing to pay anything. Our parishioner Courtney Bolton has organized a GoFundMe to give to this beautiful family of 8 in any way you can! Any amount and prayers are needed.
Joseph Shramko suffered a serious fall on April 8, 2022, at the age of 16 and began a lengthy healing process from several brain injuries. Joseph continued rehab and was able to finish high school and begin college. In March 2019 he was able to move into his own place. The Shramkos thank you for your prayers for Joseph's full functional recovery, especially through the intercession of Fr. Patrick Ryan. Click for updates.
Christina and Matt Nuar had their fifth child on March 10, and he is started out in NICU with breathing problems. The family asked for prayers for baby Augustin (Gus) Maximus. Gus was finally able to come home after several weeks. Thank you for your prayers. =
Women's Lenten Retreat with Sarah Hart at St. Therese of Lisieux, Cleveland, Saturday, March 22, 2025, 8:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. Cost: $20, includes continental breakfast after Mass and lunch. Sarah Hart is a Catholic singer, songwriter, musician, and retreat speaker.
St. Ambrose Catholic Homeschool Co-op registration will be open for the 2025-2026 school year from March 1 through May 2. We offer Nursery through High School. We meet on Fridays, at the Basilica, from 8:30-11:30am, as a supplement to our homeschool curriculums. Informational park days at March 18 and April 15 at Pioneer Frontier Park.
