Registration is now open for our OCIA programs for Becoming Catholic, as well as Religious Education for preK through 12th grade; Youth Group for 6th through 12th grade; and Youth Schola for 2nd grade and up. VOLUNTEERS are needed in these programs in various roles. Click for more info.

The Basilica is collecting SPECIFIC items in August for the needy who use the services of the CHATT Foundation: Sugar, canned veggies, coffee creamer, kids' snacks, disposable dishes and napkins, paper towels, cleaning supplies, deodorant, laundry detergent, trash bags, ponchos, socks, underwear, blankets, backpacks/bags, tarps, and strollers. Drop off donations in the Basilica vestibule by August 31.

The Basilica partners with St. Vincent de Paul Society at Our Lady of Perpetual Help by providing monetary support and food drives. Fr. Carter is now calling on Basilica parishioners to join this ministry more actively by volunteering. Our Basilica Adult Faith Formation ministry offers the Deacon’s Table / All Things Catholic class most every Sunday from 10:15-11:15 in the McConnell Room. The class is currently viewing the 6-week video series, The Hidden King: The Jewish Roots of St. Joseph, by Dr. Brant Pitre. Our next study will be on the Sacraments.

The Seven Sisters Apostolate is a call to strengthen the Church by ensuring that a Holy Hour is prayed each day of the week for the sole intention of a specific priest or bishop—a “holy wasting” (cf. Mt. 26:10) or lavishing of prayer for his deeper conformity to Christ. We are looking for more women to join us to cover all our priests in prayer. The Basilica is looking for volunteers with leadership ability to put their talents to use for the following important ministries:, Religious Education teachers, Community Outreach Coordinator, CarePortal Point Person, Hospitality Coordinators (receptions, etc.), Vocations Ministry Coordinator. Parishioner Katie Bird has organized a Facebook group called "Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul (TN) - Buy Nothing Group." Basilica parishioners are encouraged to join and post items or services that they are offering to give away or looking to receive for free. The hope is to provide a convenient channel for practicing charity and solidarity within the Basilica community. Click for details.

Our parish is on a journey to know, love, and serve Christ as a parish community. We are asking EVERY INDIVIDUAL PARISHIONER age 18 and up to take the Basilica's Disciple Maker Index Survey HERE. The survey is anonymous and takes only 15 minutes or so. Your input helps strengthen our parish. Results help leadership prepare for the future. A report of the findings will be shared after the results are compiled.

During early March 2025, severe storms caused Brandon & Linsey Dean's basement retaining wall to give way. The home has been braced up but could still collapse. It will cost $50k to repair. Insurance is refusing to pay anything. Our parishioner Courtney Bolton has organized a GoFundMe to give to this beautiful family of 8 in any way you can! Any amount and prayers are needed.

The Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul is seeking volunteers to run the livestream of the Basilica 9:00 Mass on Sundays. Simple training will be arranged. We need several volunteers to help us continue the livestream consistently. Contact [email protected] if you are interested in helping with this vital ministry.

The Basilica is seeking adults aged 18 and up with experience caring for pre-school-aged children to attend the nursery on Sundays from 8:45am to 1pm, for $50/Sunday, or as a volunteer for the full shift or half-shift. Our Basilica young mother, Lauren Serio, is suffering from cancer in her brain, lungs, and spine. She is now halfway through chemotherapy. Lauren believes in the power of prayer and asks that all pray for God's will to be done. She ask for prayers for clear scans and for her family. Click here for updates.

Our 2024-25 Annual Stewardship Appeal is to support the regular operation of our parish through Offertory giving. We are aiming for 100% participation in our Offertory by all parishioners. All women are invited to a retreat hosted by the Dominican Sisters at the Bethany House in Dickson, TN, Jan. 31 - Feb. 2, 2025. Please donate new or barely worn coats, scarves, gloves, and socks appropriate for children ages infant to 18 years in the bin marked “Coats for Kids” the Basilica’s vestibule. Items will be collected through Thanksgiving weekend, December 1, and distributed to children in our parish Hispanic Ministry & the Chambliss Center for Children. The CHATT Foundation, which supports the homeless in Chattanooga, is sponsoring their Grateful Gobbler Walk fundraiser on Thanksgiving Day. 100% of the proceeds support the Maclellan Shelter for Families. St. Ambrose Catholic Homeschool Co-op is happy to announce our annual Advent Candle fundraiser. St. Ambrose families will be selling candles after all Masses and before the 1:30 Mass the weekends of November 9/10, 16/17, and 23/24. Candles are $7 for a box of four 12-inch tapers. Our Downtown Youth Ministry for 6th through 12th grade will kick off the year with a night at Coolidge Park on Wednesday, September 18 from 6-8pm! We will also meet Oct. 16, Nov. 13, and Dec. 11.
